At 24 weeks pregnant, Jess and Max’s son is stillborn.
What follows is a series of surreal, painful and absurd moments as Jess attempts to navigate a new kind of motherhood: one filled with silent milestones, awkward encounters, and the unspoken discomfort of a world that doesn’t know what to say – or when to shut up.
Anchored by a fiercely vulnerable performance from Lovibond, the film traces Jess’s messy, courageous attempt to keep going.
Anderson stars as Max, devoted and grieving, trying to hold his small family together in the aftermath of the unthinkable.
